We’d like to share with you the invitation to the 5th World Scout Interreligious Symposium 2017.
The 5th World Scout Interreligious Symposium (WSIS) 2017 is organised by members of the Boy Scouts of America’s Religious Relationships Committee and the Interreligious Forum of World Scouting (IFoWS, an informal network of religious groups/organisations in Scouting), and is supported by the World Scout Bureau.
Participation is for scouts with an interest in interreligious dialogue and with spiritual and religious aspects of Scouting, and those concerned with growing Scouting among religious communities. All participants need to be approved by their National Scout Organisations.
CPGS would be happy to have a wide participation by its members and friends.
The 5th World Scout Interreligious Symposium (WSIS) will be held from the 27th to 29th of January 2017 at the Seminary of the Immaculate Conception in Huntington, New York. The theme of this symposium is “Duty to God … Duty to Scouting”.
The agenda of the Symposium will focus on the following topics:
- Duty to God
- Interreligious Dialogue in Youth Programme
- Spiritual Development / Religion and Spirituality
- Youth Programme and Diversity
The main language will be English, but there will be simultanous translation to French.
The registration fee for the symposium is 250 USD, and will cover accommodation (3 nights) and meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner). There will be subsidies for one to two representatives of CPGS otherwise not able to, to participate in the symposium.
